The sewing group operating at the Taratumb Community Center provides valuable opportunities for both local and displaced women and girls from Artsakh to learn, create, and acquire a new profession. Participants begin with the fundamentals of sewing, gradually developing their technical skills, creative thinking, and confidence, demonstrating that with determination and support, nothing is impossible. To enhance the participants’ practical knowledge and deepen their engagement, Community Development NGO, in partnership with the German organization Brot für die Welt and the French organization L’Œuvre d’Orient, organized an educational visit to leading clothing factories in Yerevan: Elina and Alex. During these visits, the women observed the complete production cycle: from concept development and design to the creation and marketing of finished garments.

The visit served as a unique, hands-on learning experience. Everything the participants had been studying in class came to life in an industrial setting. They followed the work of professional specialists and modern machinery with great interest, asked questions of experienced tailors, and began to envision their own future success stories in the field.

For many participants, this was their first time inside a clothing factory.“I am so inspired! This is the first time I’ve seen how the clothes we usually buy are actually made. Now I’m convinced we can also start something small in our own community. Today I know, we are on the right path,”shared one participant.

This experience was not only an important step in professional development but also in personal growth. It boosted the women’s and girls’ motivation, strengthened their self-confidence, and opened up new possibilities for their future careers.
