Armenian–Georgian Youth Summer Camp: New Friendships and Ideas

Set against the picturesque landscapes of Vayots Dzor, the Armenian-Georgian Youth Summer Camp was held at the Siranuysh Camp from August 4 to 13, bringing together teenagers from the two neighboring nations in a single collaborative setting. The program was rich and varied, featuring intellectual and athletic games, cultural evenings, and substantive discussions on leadership, teamwork, and peacebuilding. Armenian and Georgian participants took part with great enthusiasm, making each day meaningful and memorable. Throughout the camp, they learned to listen, collaborate, and build mutual trust. The ten-day program was finished with a closing ceremony. Joint musical performances by Armenian and Georgian participants filled the Yeghegis Gorge with smiles and sustained applause, featuring traditional pieces from both cultures.
Among the guests were Primate of the Vayots Dzor Diocese, Archbishop Abraham Mkrtchyan, Markus Ritter, Head of the European Union Mission in Armenia, Aharon Gabrielyan, Acting Head of Yeghegis consolidative community, as well as numerous distinguished guests and parents. In his closing remarks, Mr. Ritter thanked the organizers and extended his best wishes to the participants for continued success. Aharon Gabrielyan also delivered a speech of thanks. Rezo Sharabidze, Director of the Georgian Lazarus Foundation, also expressed his gratitude, commending the warm hospitality and high organizational standards. Although the camp has ended, participants leave with their best memories, newly formed friendships, and the skills and experience they gained. The ten days at Siranuysh once again demonstrated that when young people meet and come together under one roof, the best ideas emerge and lasting friendships are forged.

The camp is organized by Community Development NGO with the support of its long-term partner, the Swiss organization HEKS/EPER, within the framework of the Youth for Peace in the South Caucasus program.
