Empowering Women Through Knowledge and Practice

The Community Development NGO, in collaboration with the German organization Bread for the World, regularly organizes seminars, educational visits, and practical workshops within the framework of the Beekeeping for Women project, providing continuous opportunities for women to acquire knowledge and advance their professional growth.

Recently, the project’s beneficiaries took part in an educational visit to the Beekeeping Museum in Geghashen village, Ararat region. The visit was initiated by Dr. Almut Schultheiss. The museum’s founder, experienced beekeeper Gagik Harutyunyan, provided a detailed tour, presenting the history behind the museum’s creation. Participants had the opportunity to explore the history of beekeeping, learn about both traditional and modern tools, and discover cultural aspects specific to the field.

As part of the visit, a thematic discussion was held, during which participants received valuable information on topics such as organic honey production, the challenges of certification, environmental protection, and natural methods for preventing bee diseases. The discussion was engaging and interactive, allowing participants to ask their concerning questions and receive expert advice.

Such initiatives play a vital role in women’s empowerment by fostering their personal and professional growth and contributing to the sustainable development of rural communities.
