Recently, the Community Development NGO hosted the Armenian representatives of the French organization L’Œuvre d’Orient, Mr. Luc and Mrs. Blandine Bourreau.
During their visit, the guests observed one of the NGO’s vocational training programs — a welding course — and had the opportunity to meet with beneficiaries displaced from Artsakh. They listened to their stories, concerns, and hopes for the future.
Mr. and Mrs. Bourreau were also hosted by Ms. Lusine, a displaced woman from Artsakh who, after completing a culinary training course, could turn her newly acquired skills into a small source of income. The guests were delighted to taste the dishes she had prepared and to hear her inspiring story, marked by hardship but also resilience and hope.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a local success story. A pear orchard established years ago with the support of the NGO has grown into a sustainable source of family income. The guests were introduced to the local resources and agricultural opportunities, and potential directions for future cooperation were discussed.
The collaboration between the Community Development NGO and L’Œuvre d’Orient is a significant step towards the sustainable development and advancement of local communities.
