Recognizing the potential for beekeeping development in the Vayots Dzor region and building on years of accumulated experience, Community Development NGO implements the Beekeeping for Women project with the support of the German organization Bread for the World. The goal of this initiative is to promote women’s involvement in the field of apiculture.
The program’s final training session, led by Dr. Almut Schultheiss, an expert representing the German organization Bread for the World, took place on December 21. The training covered several essential topics, including effective methods for treating bee colonies and combating Varroa mites. Dr. Schultheiss presented both scientific insights and practical skills to help participants address these challenges more effectively. Additionally, the session explored the program’s prospects and new opportunities anticipated for 2025.
Participants were provided with essential beekeeping tools and protective masks to ensure safety against pesticides. These resources will undoubtedly support their work processes while safeguarding their health.
The Beekeeping for Women program remains committed to its mission, aiming to create new opportunities in 2025 for the sustainable development of the sector and increased engagement of women in apiculture.
