For about three years, an intensive orchard was established in the Rind settlement of the Vayots Dzor region. The area of an orchard is 3100 square meters. Only 1100 square meters were planted with fruit trees: 30 cherry trees and 15 almond trees.
Within the framework of the Improvement of Income Possibilities in Rural Areas of Armenia project of Syunik-Development NGO, the orchard was prepared to plant peach trees. A water pump was also purchased, which is an opportunity to ensure constant irrigation of the orchard.
The establishment and expansion of an intensive orchard contribute to the development of agricultural activities in the settlement, particularly horticulture, and provide employment and stable income for families living in the settlement.
The project is implemented with our long-term partner German Bread for the World organization.
